This bench is made of stained elm wood and sculpturally crafted by hand very minimalistic, yet brutalistic shaped and in very good original condition. The Finnish designer and interior architect Olavi Hänninen (1920-1992) designed everything from furniture to trams, public facilities to church decorations. His designs range from rustic pieces to ones with a Space Age aesthetic. In 1957 Hänninen received the gold medal at the 11th Milan Triennale.
